Career Quest

Well, one reason I choose this topic for my blog was to not only fulfill and assigment but help myself get motivated in the whole career search. I’m graduating in May and I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with my major. Recently an opportunity kinda fell in my lap—There is a great chance I have a job lined up for next year. It has nothing to do with my major, and I couldn’t be happier. Over the past year I’ve decided my ideal career would be inner-city theater outreach. (I know, not exactly electronic media and communication based occupation) The potential job I’ve been offered would allow me to work with children in the poorer areas of my hometown, and teach them theater and music. It is absolutely perfect.

However, I do intend to let this opportunity open me up to different forms of Web 2.0. I have a feeling I’m going to need a lot of support and advice in this field since I am kinda jumping into it. I hope to locate advice forums or blogs that pertain to non-profit work, inner-city youth, and theater arts for children.
